We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical/Surgical care to join our team in Summit, NJ. This is a travel position that offers a unique opportunity to experience a vibrant community while providing exceptional patient care.
Job Functions
Assessment Skills: Utilize comprehensive assessment skills to deliver patient care across all stages of growth and development, from Pediatric to Geriatric.
Clinical Skills: Demonstrate competent clinical skills through direct patient care activities, supporting patient care delivery and the team concept.
Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation, ensuring adherence to documentation guidelines and taking primary responsibility for documenting the nursing process.
Professionalism: Exhibit professional practice responsibility by understanding policies and procedures and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
Patient Satisfaction: Respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner, maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
Safety: Follow National Patient Safety Goals, utilizing safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
Unit Specific Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients, individualizing care according to procedures and anesthesia types.
Responsibility and Accountability: Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on their needs and condition changes.
Patient Education and Chart Completion: Assess and educate patients on surgical procedures, involving them and their families in teaching.
Duties Specific to PAT RN: Support the timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness.
Skills and Requirements
1 year of experience
BLS Certification - Required
RN License - Required
Proficient in patient care, documentation, and patient education
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
