Description

Job Details
Target Ratios: 1:6-7 (Must be comfortable with these ratios)
Shift: 12HR NIGHTS. 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours.
Contract Length: Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
Required Skills / Certs / Experience
Minimum Years of Experience: Required 2 years of experience required in last 5 years
Traveler Experience: Accepts 1st time travelers
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: Must be able to take heparin drips, PCA, Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, Active RN license required, Management of dysrhythmias, O2 Protocol Management, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral line care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Traumatic Brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes- Emerson/Pleuravac, Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Tracheostomy Management, Wound care, Epic documentation experience required.
Certs: BLS
Preferred Skills / Certs / Experience
ACLS, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Management of drips, CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries
RTO
7 days MAX
Float Requirement
Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
Weekend Requirement
Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend
Holiday Requirement
Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
Patient Diagnoses
Severe injury to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue.
Traumatic brain injuries.
Spine injuries, pain.
Neurological trauma/nerve damage (small population). Subdural hematoma.
Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication)
Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
Unit Orientation
12 hour unit orientation.
16 hour organizational education.
Scrubs
Navy
Internal Notes: Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
