Description

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Be accountable and responsible on a continuing basis for providing medications (including investigational medications, chemotherapy and biologic therapy), blood products, and conducting procedures with the ambulatory patient at the direction of an LIP
Participate in collection of research data per protocol as directed by study team
Organize and collaborate care between the physician's clinic, research team, and the Reid Family ITU
Displays professionalism and teamwork
Be accountable and responsible for planning and providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients/families being cared for by the Medical Oncology Gynecological/Surgical physicians of the Cancer Institute
Function as a practice liaison with surgical services to optimize OR and ASC utilization
Be responsible for identifying special needs of patients and making referrals to other healthcare professionals to facilitate holistic care of each patient
Be responsible on a continuing basis for planning and providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients/families with cancer being cared by for the Radiation Oncologists of the Cancer Institute
Be responsible for teaching, counseling, advocacy, and all supportive functions needed to assist the patient and family to cope with and adjust to their treatment and diagnosis
Chemo Certification within 6-12 months

Qualifications:

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card
Minimum of one year of current medical oncology, radiation oncology and/or infusion oncology nursing experience, preferably in an acute care facility
Must be able to triage patient needs both in the clinic and on the telephone

Certs Required:

BCLS, Chemo Required (can apply with this pending, must be in hand before start)
