Requirements

Current California RN License
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
EPIC Experience
At least 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience

Job Responsibilities Assessment and Planning of Patient Care

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and their families, covering physiological, spiritual, and emotional areas.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure a patient-centric care plan with continuity of care.
Streamline patient workflow and improve outcomes by partnering with peers, management, and other healthcare providers.
Communicate patients' care plans to co-workers and across shifts and departments.

Provision of Patient Care

Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in line with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Delegate tasks effectively based on legal scopes of practice and team member capabilities.
Communicate treatments and activities clearly to patients and families, ensuring understanding through teach-back methods.
Stay current with advancements, trends, and best practices in acute care and professional nursing practice.

Evaluation of Patient Care

Monitor patient care interventions, assess therapies, and evaluate outcomes, intervening as necessary.
Provide ongoing education for patients and families to ensure optimal care from admission through transitions.
Reassess and document patients' responses to care plans, adjusting as needed.
Report safety or compliance concerns and participate in safety events to prevent future occurrences.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff, helping them orient to the unit.

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2 years of recent relevant experience in MedSurg/Telemetry

Skills and Knowledge

Strong knowledge of nursing theories, concepts, and practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
