Description

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Assess and triage pediatric patients in the emergency room.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatments.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
Assist with the stabilization and transfer of critically ill patients.
Prepare patients for surgery or other medical procedures.
Manage multiple patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Provide post-discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations.

Qualifications:

Current RN license in the state of practice.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing.
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Strong knowledge of pediatric emergency protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move patients.
Empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
