Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Planning of Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and families, addressing physiological, spiritual, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and coordinate patient-centric care plans.
- Streamline patient workflow and improve outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating care plans across shifts and departments.
Provision of Patient Care:
- Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective care in accordance with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to team members based on scope of practice and individual capability.
- Communicate treatments and activities clearly to patients and families, ensuring understanding through teach-back methods.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all regulations regarding patient information.
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in acute care and PICU nursing.
Evaluation of Patient Care:
- Monitor and evaluate patient care interventions and outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families throughout the care continuum to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document all care and treatment information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in safety events and report concerns to prevent future occurrences.
- Mentor and support newly hired staff, helping them orient to the unit and validate competencies.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of nursing theories, medical terminology, and healthcare industry standards.
Excellent communication skills to convey sensitive information professionally to diverse audiences.
Proficient in time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
