Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning of Patient Care:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and families, addressing physiological, spiritual, and emotional needs.
    • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and coordinate patient-centric care plans.
    • Streamline patient workflow and improve outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.
    • Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating care plans across shifts and departments.
  • Provision of Patient Care:
    • Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective care in accordance with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
    • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
    • Delegate tasks appropriately to team members based on scope of practice and individual capability.
    • Communicate treatments and activities clearly to patients and families, ensuring understanding through teach-back methods.
    • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all regulations regarding patient information.
    • Stay current with advancements and best practices in acute care and PICU nursing.
  • Evaluation of Patient Care:
    • Monitor and evaluate patient care interventions and outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed.
    • Educate patients and families throughout the care continuum to ensure optimal outcomes.
    • Document all care and treatment information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
    • Participate in safety events and report concerns to prevent future occurrences.
    • Mentor and support newly hired staff, helping them orient to the unit and validate competencies.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theories, medical terminology, and healthcare industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey sensitive information professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
