Job Details
  • Travel Rate: Available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/16.
  • Shift: 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours accepted. No overtime billed until after 48 hours if 48-hour shifts are chosen.
  • Contract Duration: Accepting contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025, to cover the holiday season.
  • Floating Requirement: Required.
  • Weekend Requirement: 12-16 per contract.
  • Unit Orientation: 24 hours.
  • Hospital Orientation: Week one; availability for classes each day is required.
  • Scrubs: Navy/White.
Required Skills and Certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant field.
  • Open to first-time travelers.
  • Skills in Med/Surg, Telemetry-remote monitoring, Rapid Response Team, IV insulin protocols, Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care & management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, PCA, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral Suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.
  • Certification: BCLS.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Accessing Ports, Insulin, CVA, Surgical drains, Interpretation of ABGs, Tracheostomy Management, EPIC.
Responsibilities

Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. They may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

Patient Diagnoses
  • Dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture. Typical M/S diagnoses plus COVID.
Special Procedures / Unit Details
  • Isolation area for COVID patients, multi-level care including stepdown (cared for by stepdown staff, not M/S staff).
Unit Systems
  • Medication, Documentation, Communication: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR.
