Registered Nurse - Telemetry/PCU (Thoracic Surgery & Pulmonary Transplant)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (12 HR Days, 07:00-19:00)
Join the facility as a Registered Nurse in our Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit, specializing in Thoracic Surgery & Pulmonary Transplant. This full-time day shift position is based in Dallas, TX, at a facility renowned for its comprehensive patient care and research. We are seeking dedicated RNs who are eager to advance their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing critical care to patients undergoing complex thoracic surgeries and pulmonary transplants.
Day-to-day of the role:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic (VAT) surgeries, esophagectomy, hernia repair, and lung transplantation.
Manage patient care plans based on continuous monitoring data, adjusting treatments as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Participate in continuous education and training to stay abreast of the latest in thoracic surgery and pulmonary transplant practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Must hold a current RN license.
Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), with the expectation to obtain further certifications as needed.
At least one year of acute care experience, preferably in a telemetry or PCU setting, with exposure to thoracic surgery and pulmonary transplant patients.
Strong clinical judgment and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and unit needs.
The location of the candidate needs to be 30 mins or less for OR and any role with a call requirement.
