When I arrived they were in need of help but had many things in place to get their small interventional radiology unit staffed. At the end of my contract the manager and assistant manager we're hands on and very approachable.  They also managed to hire up an adequate number of staff within the first year.  The IR department has its normal flaws as a large system hospital.  However, this management team is a step above most other facilities.

UMMC is an intense and fast-paced environment. The patient load can be overwhelming at times but I have become a much better nurse in the short time I've been at the hospital.

The floor I worked on was extremely clicky. If you hadn’t been there forever then you didn’t get help.

If you are taking a contract into the ICU, be careful. I took a contract there during COVID in the MICU, the nurses were absolutely awful. Evil even. Willing to sacrifice patient’s lives to prove their own points. I would NOT take a contract in that MICU.
