Sterile Processing Tech
Working here as a sterile processing tech here for the past year was great for me. I learned a lot and with being a trauma 1 center it was great experience.
Scripps SSRS PACU and OR
I’ve worked at scripps for the better part of 5 years in pre-op, PACU and now in the OR. As a nonunion hospital, their downside is that they have no pension available and they pay a bit less than some union hospitals in the surrounding area. Now on to their positives, I love working there. The manager of their internal traveler positions (aka SSRS) is the best manager I have ever had-approves your PTO, kind and always on your side, fights for you in every way and is an overall joy to work with. As SSRS, you make a differential that sets you up to be very competitive with union hospitals nearby and this gig comes with benefits as well. Since leaving their SSRS position to change specialties into the OR, I did take a bit of a differential pay cut - however, I surprisingly landed with another batch of great leadership to my best fortune. Working at scripps really does feel like a family and the culture is like no where else. I have made lifelong friends and wish I could stay forever - the only reason I know I won’t is because my family is all on the east coast but I dread the day I have to leave because it’s such a wonderful place to work and none of the other 7 hospitals I’ve worked at can compare!
