The patients are the best thing about this hospital. They appreciate travel nurses. They genuinely thank me from coming into their town because they know they don’t have good nurses helping them there. Management treats travel staff like step children. They micro manage night shift over the phone while watching cameras at home. It’s unnecessary. The hospital is closing pertinent services like Labor & Delivery due to budget cuts. If the management (ER specifically) treated everyone respectfully and appreciated us helping them, it would be a better work environment, turnover would decrease, and patient satisfaction would improve! I enjoyed working here because of the patients. It’s a small town; mostly a retirement community, so they vocalize their appreciation to me with sincerity. The potential here is tremendous. They should consider remodeling the management and I know HCAPS will soar!
