Reviews
Recently bought out by MUSC but there are so many open ended policies and issues that need to be addressed with this hospital. The department I worked in was very unorganized and really no leadership present.
Bait & switch
36 hr/wk contract does NOT mean 3/12s as they will lead you to believe. Employees work 5 days a week, but only to cover daily needs. You're expected to be there at 7 am, but can be sent home at any time from 10 am to 9 pm, depending on how busy the cases are, so that you have 36 total hours by Friday when you clock out (34 if you're on call, because they count callback into your 36 hours, and assume you will be called back. If not, oh well). No defib pads on interventional patients ('we put them on if we need them'). One crash cart for the 4 labs. New grads were being trained by the only full-time staff nurse (a former EP nurse who was new to cath lab), and they were being trained incorrectly on how to mix meds to the point that during one code situation, the meds had no positive effect, having been improperly compounded. Terrifying. The ICU nurses had no idea how to handle a femoral sheath, I had to do education numerous times on the pressure line setup and document my concerns to CYA when I was chastised for 'taking too long to give report' after the ICU RN admitted they had never handled a femoral sheath before (nor had any of the others on shift that day). It was an absolute train wreck from day one, with kind employees doing their very best under super shady management and administration!! My review is from nearly 3 years ago. I can only hope things have improved!!!
