Must demonstrate independent management of cardiac, critical care, complex care med/surg, psychiatric, and multiple trauma patients of all age groups.  The ability to work in an intermittently fast-paced, high-volume, high-risk environment is required. IV Skills for all ages are required. Telemetry experience is preferred.

We serve Ketchikan and several surrounding Alaska islands that are isolated with limited healthcare services available. Patients present via fast boat and fixed wing aircraft from surrounding islands for emergent care. Ketchikan is the first port for Alaskan Cruises departing from Seattle. We do not take trach patients, acute rehab, TPN, Bi-PAP, etc. We use a Pyxis medication system to load our Work Stations on Wheels. We DO NOT USE MedPacks which is what a lot of the LTC’s down south utilize, our Medpass process is a hybrid between a LTC /MedSurg process. Epic was designed as an acute care EMR and has been modified to accommodate LTC; however, the modifications make the charting labor-intensive.
