I went there on a travel assignment toward the end of the pandemic. Next to no one was staff, all travelers. The physicians don’t listen to nurses and in the ICU our teamwork is imperative to success. I was breastfeeding/pumping at the time and I couldn’t get anyone to watch my patients for 15 minutes. The charge nurses often refused to help me because they “had to watch the monitors”. As if the unit isn’t full of nurses who know how to read a monitor and as if we aren’t sitting right in front of our patients. Secondly the hospital itself didn’t have a lactation room…. Well they did. But you had to use a sign up sheet to save yourself a time block…. Again not realistic as a nurse. I can’t schedule my time out a week in advance. Overall terrible experience working there. I was so happy when my contract ended.
