I’ve worked at this facility and noticed a common theme. Most employees are PRN or seasonal. HCA does not incentivize nurses to stay as staff because the pay is so low. Most hospitals in DFW area are paying nurses $10 more an hour and have better nurse to patient ratios. The hospital is for profit and they pride themselves on NOT being the highest paying facility in the area, they also refuse to acknowledge that they are the lowest paying. Lots of new nurses get hired with the residency program as a foot in the door and once they get their experience for 1 year the make a dash to a facility that will better value and compensate them. The people are nice, but turnover is high due to previously stated reasons.
