Overview:

Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator (Antimicrobial Stewardship Program) The Clinical Coordinator for Antimicrobial Stewardship is responsible for the development, coordination, and monitoring of antimicrobial stewardship activities for the system. The Clinical Coordinator will participate as a member of the pharmacy and infectious diseases clinical teams and ensure the best use of antimicrobial therapy for our patients. The Clinical Coordinator will also serve as the Program Director for the Infectious Diseases PGY2 residency program.  Expected activities include but are not limited to, rounding with physicians and other healthcare providers to drive evidence based and institution guideline directed medication therapy management, active participation in the training of pharmacy students and pharmacy residents, assisting with policy and guideline development, and active participation in local and system level committees and workgroups in the areas of infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. The Vascular Access Nurse provides consultation for providers and nurses for the most appropriate vascular access device based on patient assessment and the treatment plan. Places vascular access devices such as: peripheral intravenous catheters (PIV), Peripheral Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), Midline catheters and Intra-osseous catheters. Accesses and de-accesses implanted ports. Assesses and manages central venous access devices including routine dressing changes, cap changes and intervenes to maintain patency of central venous access devices. Serves as a resource for the health care team in the intravenous access, placement, management, and patient/family education for care and maintenance. Service area is both inpatient and outpatient.

Qualifications:
Education:  As required by licensure.  BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues, including experts in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, brain surgery and more, Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest. Emanuel Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Regional Burn Center and serves the needs of both adult hospital population as well as Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel.  Currently there are 19 ORs/procedure suites, performing an average of 50 cases/day for both Adult and Pediatric specialties including, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic, ENT, Burns, OMFS, Plastics, Gynecology and robotics. In July 2018, construction commenced on the new Emanuel West tower which includes brand new operating rooms, PACU, Central Sterile and other support areas.
