Kerrville State Hospital provides transitional care to patients on code of criminal procedure commitment who no longer require a maximum security setting. Also provides restoration of competency services to patients charged with non-violent offenses who are committed by District Courts.  For these patients, the goals is to treat their mental illness so they may safely return to the community.
