I worked in PICU, that was great, the pediatric floor wasn’t the best there were some people who ruined the culture and were unhelpful and nasty about it when you asked for help. The charge nurse came up to me in one of my isolation patients rooms and asked me “how are you doing do you need anything” and I said actually i forgot a medication, any chance you can pull it for me? And he said “ummm no, don’t be one of those girls that act like you can’t do something yourself just because your gowned up” then reported me to management saying I was delegating too many tasks. What sad is I literally don’t know anyone’s name so I couldn’t delegate tasks but of course who is the manager going to believe the traveler or the senior charge nurse that’s been away from bedside for years? This is one of many stupid things that happened similar to this. If you were PICU they could ask float you to NICU they will teach you, it’s not the worst. Good experience and if you feel comfortable maybe you can do that type of assignment now. Just be aware. Other than that there were some fun good helpful people there too. I guess you gotta take the good with the bad

Great place but some bad eggs

Management is clueless and Traveler are slammed with work because they have a culture of allowing lazy staff nurses to relax on Travler’s backs.
