Enjoyed my time on the neuro ICU unit. Friendly unit, and everyone is willing to jump in & lend a hand. 
Staffing ratios can extend to 3:1, but it was rare, and the patients were usually borders. Felt I had the resources to be successful and was rarely floated to the floor or other ICU units.

This individual interacts with imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients and visitors. Acts as a resource person for MRI technical, and other issues, and demonstrates competence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols. Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room - equipment, supplies and medications. This individual also maintains images and archives associated with patient data. Other duties as assigned.  LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: ARRT registered is required. Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-MR is required within 18 months of hire. SITE SPECIFIC: .For those sites requiring advanced certification in MRI &amp; CT, MR must be achieved within the first 18 months. CT certification must be achieved within 30 months of hire date. BCLS certified within 90 days of hire date. State of WI license in Radiologic Technology if incumbent performs CT, general radiography or any other imaging using ionizing radiation; if practice is limited to MRI and/or Ultrasound, no state license is required. LICENSURE PREFERRED.Graduate of an JCERT approved two-year radiologic technology program is required.
