They not only rescinded my contract 3 weeks after offering an extension initially, they shortened my contract with a mere 10 day notice due to low census.  It’s a small hospital with a lot of logistic issues. The coworkers were traveler friendly though.

They pay high for a reason

The pay was decent but the Cath Lab here was incredibly disorganized. They fired their Cath Lab Supply employee as well so we never had any of the supplies we needed to do our job. The Cath Lab ANM was very sweet and easy to work with but she has never worked in a Cath Lab before so it created lots of issues and was very disorganized. The Cath Lab Director makes very poor decisions and creates a very disorganized and unpleasant work environment. The techs are very experienced but they are hardened from the years of disorganization and it takes them a while to warm up to you. The Cardiologists are good and approachable but they often don’t start cases until 3pm when they get out of clinic so you sit around all day with little to do and then stay until midnight to do there cases. The staff nurses are pleasant to work with. Also, on days when there are no cases the director doesn’t want to see people sitting around doing nothing so the culture is for everyone to hide but then you get yelled at for not being immediately available if something pops up.

Very disorganized

Managements is terrible. More than half the time I didn't have the resources or help necessary to do the job right. There's a reason it's one of the highest paying hospitals.

This is the most unsafe environment I’ve ever worked. The staff are miserable. Very cliquey. Place is about 50% travelers. Most don’t re-sign because they can’t wait to leave. Charting system is so bad. ER system is different from inpatient system and not linked. Not linked to pharmacy either so no safety net when it comes to meds. No scanners for anything.  Makes it so unsafe. ALL of the providers (docs and mid levels) are locum as well, so they are constantly changing and don’t know or care about what’s going on. Half the hospital is shut down. Place looks like it’s on the verge of collapse. Quickest way to lose your license is this place

The Cardiovascular Director position is to include but is not limited to oversight of the Cardiovascular Service Line through subordinate managers. These departments include the Cardiac Cath Lab, Echo lab, Pre/Post op unit and Cardiovascular Surgery Program. Must work collaboratively with Surgery, ICU, and ED. Assisting the CNO in the clinical and administrative functions on cardiovascular related assigned unit (s), outpatient or specialized areas on a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) days a week basis. This position has significant responsibility for formulating and administering policies and programs, manages significant human, financial and physical resources and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Oversees through subordinate managers the accountability and stewardship of service line resources and the development of systems and procedures to protect service line and organizational assets. Demonstrates strategic planning and effective leadership skills of delegation and organization. The Director will work to ensure high quality of care and patient experience for cardiovascular patients, families, and physicians. Always supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Dameron Hospital. This position will be involved with the CNO and Dameron Leadership when determining strategies for Cardiovascular programs with organization-wide impact. Must also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and regulatory processes and procedures. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a non-union position. See Essential Job Functions. Salary Range: $132,384-$198,577 annually.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Requires California Registered Nurse licensure.

Bachelor’s Degree Master’s Degree in Health Care or Related Field preferred

Experience:

Two years in a Cardiovascular field related leadership position,

Minimum of five years clinical experience in acute care facility in specified unit or department.

Licenses/ certifications:

Current California Registered Nurse License Current BLS Certification through AHA

Current ACLS Certification.
