We have 25 beds and offer flexible scheduling with 12-hour shifts available rotating both days and nights. Our team includes a dedicated unit educator and a group of experienced charge nurses. We have implemented many technologic advances to ensuring high-quality care for our patients.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

* CPR Certification
* ACLS Certification within 1 year
* Basic Dysrhythmia Course within 1 year
* Critical Care Course current or acquired within 1 year
* Trauma Nurse Course within 1 year
* PALS certification current or acquired within 2 years
* CCRN current or acquired after 3 years preferred
* Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or greater than six months current employment as GN/RN in a critical care unit
* CCRN after 3 years preferred

Department/Unit Summary

Crichton Center is a 27 bed physical rehabilitation unit providing acute care services; managing the patients' medical conditions along with providing them with the therapy/education needed in order to return to their prior level of function and to get home. Our most common patient diagnosis is stroke, however we see a range of diagnoses. With the extensive services provided, our patients' average length of stay is 14 days. Although we are a 27 bed occupancy unit, we are actively working toward expanding to 37 beds as our unit is growing. We offer 12 hour shifts with flexible self-scheduling for our nurses.

PCU is a 42-bed unit. Registered Nurses provide direct day-to-day care of patients and families. Practices to the fullest extent of their license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, functions as a member of the Patient Focused Care Team in collaboration and implementation of the established patients plan of care. Participates with the Nurse Manager in continuous performance improvement. Provides care specific to ages and developmental needs of adult and geriatric patients. Management of acute cardiac care patients and invasive lines including carotid &amp; femoral surgeries appropriate interventions, therapies and expected outcomes. Registered Nurses work 12-hour shifts (7A and 7P).
