Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our growing Community Regional Neuro ICU team! In your role, you will serve as a drug expert and consultant to physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel, primarily responsible for optimizing patient outcomes and participating in direct patient care activities such as Code Stroke Response and providing comprehensive medication management. As a subject matter expert, you will lead formal and informal discussions, including continuing education, topical discussions, and bedside rounds. While you will work primarily with the Neuro ICU, you will also have the opportunity to support the Neurosurgery and Neurology service lines as needed. You will be integral to Stroke Quality Improvement initiatives, precepting students, residents, and advanced practice practitioners, creating/reviewing drug monographs, performing drug utilization reviews, and addressing drug shortages. As the region's flagship hospital, this USCF academic-affiliated facility is home to the only Level I Trauma Center and comprehensive burn center between Los Angeles and Sacramento, serving as the area's "safety net provider," covering five counties. You will join our amazing team, one of seven neuroscience intensive care units in the United States — and the only one in California — to earn a Beacon Gold Award of Excellence by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). 

Qualifications:

In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for operating extra-corporal equipment, providing care and supporting activities appropriate for ages served. From cardiopulmonary bypass, to short and long-term ventricular assistance, to intra aortic balloon pump counterpulsation, you will be integral to the support of our perfusion services. Responsibilities:
In your role, you will:<ul><li>Perform set up of the heart-lung machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, autologous blood salvage system, other extracorporeal systems and related equipment.</li><li>Manage the cardiopulmonary bypass system, the intra-aortic balloon pump, isolated limb perfusion system, autologous blood salvage system and other related systems, during patient procedures and under physician supervision.</li><li>Assist implantation and monitor ventricular assist devices and ECMO circuits.</li><li>Select, assemble, set up and test heart-lung machines to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications. Clean and adjust parts of the heart-lung machine.</li><li>Operate heart-lung machines to regulate blood circulation and composition, to administer drugs and anesthetic agents, and to control body temperature during surgery or respiratory/cardiac failure of patients.</li><li>Monitor operation of heart-lung machine and patient’s physiologic variables such as blood temperature, blood composition and flow rate, and adjust equipment to maintain normal body functions.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
