The computer EMR system (Cerner) makes a great difference. With meditech, you spend most of your time documenting, not on auto save mode. There is always work. Everyone worked equally with respect. Doctors and nurse practitioners don't call nurses during rounds. We get left out from procedures that were told to patients, but not to us. It's really difficult getting to know all the doctors. Most of the times you don't know who's on call. This is not just this hospital. It's all HCA I have been to. I really think they should send a list of names and numbers every shift instead of us searching. The admissions come too fast with no reports from ED. the only thing we get is a broadcast message, no time to even look at the patients' charts.
