I enjoyed it but you are required to take medical surgical patients when there are no OB patients.  I am not an med/surg nurse so I was uncomfortable at times with this.  Everyone is helpful though.

Pay- $32.50/hr up to $55/hrPlus $.75 for first cert diff, and $.50 for up to 4 more certs (things like ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc). Shift diffs are $8/hr on the weekends. $5hr during the week.Shift-12 Nights or 12 Days$5,000 retention bonus to new RNs (spread out over two years of employment). $5,000 in relocation reimbursement if moving from somewhere at least 75 miles away. Other benefits - 50% match on retirement contributions up to the IRS limit after 1 year of employment. We have two health plans through Blue Cross to choose from - PPO with $1,000 individual deductible or a High Deductible Plan with HSA account. We offer dental, vision, and $50k in life insurance. New hires get 200 hours paid time off their first year of employment on an accrual basis. After 5 years they get 240 hours, and 280 after 10 years. We provide 48 hours of sick leave per yearEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure: Current, temporary, or compact license to practice nursing in New Mexico.Job Knowledge: Able to demonstrate the following core competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability and leadership. Participation in continuing education programs to maintain current license. Knowledge of current trends and procedures in nursing profession. Must have a current CPR card or be enrolled in the next available class. Employment in accordance with the hiring policy of Cibola General Hospital.
