Very busy level II trauma center with a wonderful team of nurses, techs, and paramedics working together to help patients. I loved my time here and would go back if it weren’t so far from home. You won’t get all your breaks and you will work hard with high nurse to patient ratios but the team makes it worth it.

Never worked with a more dedicated CVOR team! But never worked for such rude, out of control surgeons! Charge nurse warned me one of the surgeons might throw things or curse at me like this was ok! Threw me into regular OR with no orientation with another traveler who was on day 1! Made a traveler charge nurse on week 2 who didn't even know a trauma pager existed and then got hit with a gunshot to the throat. (She quit the next week.) Regular OR cases were very disorganized, blind leading the blind. Worked all the way up till clock out time before relief would show up for report. But absolutely beautiful location looking out over the water! Spent my call time on the beach 5 minutes from the hospital! And tons of RV parks available near the hospital.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer and stroke care. The facility includes 200 patient beds and is home to an emergency department and level II trauma center — the only level II trauma center in a 12-county region. The center has 55 emergency beds and four resuscitation rooms large enough for full teams of health care and emergency personnel.
