AMC is currently suffering from a surge of elderly patients, the ED does not have enough space, so hall beds are conjured up out of thin air without notice. The Chrage nurse will assign multiple patients from EMS or the waiting room without warning, into these imaginary hallway beds and some of these patients can be extremely critical, with no cardiac monitor or privacy. During my experience, patients have coded without an available crash cart or provider near by. Your license will be at risk here.

Is it worth it?

The facility is not traveler friendly. It’s seems that most travelers have an issue with their contract, whether it be the hours or the shifts(days/nights). Permanent staff is very territorial. In a good note, no call.

Some colleagues were great, others not so much. Management is the big problem and they don’t have your back. Culture is very similar to high school Mean Girls.

charge nurses are told to "slam the travelers" while other have zero patients, was told every other weekend to work and was scheduled every weekend the first time block, union hospital, mean girls club, wrote up a traveler for not being friendly enough and not making friends
