Perhaps things have changed since when I was ￼at Trinity, but when I was there, the Nursing Supervisors on the Night Shift were constantly creating extra work for the MICU nurses.  We would have three or four telemetry overflow patients in the ICU, and there would be patients waiting for beds in the emergency department that were also tele status. ￼ Instead of moving those tele patients out of the ED straight to tele beds as they opened up, the Nursing Supervisors would have us transfer our tele overflow patients out of the ICU to the tele floors as tele beds opened up and then we’d  have to take the ED Tele patients into those newly opened up ICU beds. ￼ The net effect was twice as many patients had to get moved in the night, and the ICU nurses ended up having to chart on twice as many patients during the shift as they otherwise would if the telemetry patients in the emergency department waiting for beds were just moved straight to telemetry beds as they became available.  This happened constantly. ￼
