Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Grade: 113 Salary: $14.78 - $24.23 Hourly (Dependent on Qualifications) Department: Utilities - Maintenance of Lines E-mail: [email protected] ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Rotating forty (40) hour work week, 24 hour shifts, seven (7) days a week. Must be available to work additional hours as needed. Who May Apply? All persons legally authorized to work in the United States Responsibilities Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution system and wastewater collection system. * Lead a crew to repair perform wastewater system maintenance and cleaning. * Operate vactor truck. * Install large volume commercial and residential meters at service connections. * Lead a crew to install, program, and maintain AMR Components. * Lead a crew to perform water service turn-off and turn-on duties for residential, commercial and industrial customers. * Investigate and mitigate issues reported on the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. * Log time, material, equipment, and work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). * Provide customer service while performing responsibilities. * May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Requires High School Diploma or GED * Minimum of two (2) years of related experience * Valid Texas Class A CDL at time of hire, vactor only * TCEQ Class D Water or Wastewater Operator License required at time of hire. * Dual Water/Wastewater Operator license must be obtained within one (1) year of hire. * Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas Class A driver's license within 90 days of hire Other Information: Benefits The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes: * Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
