Internal Traveler - RN - Radiology Sedation Infusion
Full-Time 601 Children's Lane Inpatient Nursing Days/Evenings 85.0000 Through 85.0000 * GENERAL SUMMARY * The CHKD RN - Internal Traveler Program (RN-ITP) provides short-term 13-week assignments for eligible candidates to fill staffing needs. RNs will be eligible for up to 3 renewable 13-week assignments into critical specialty groups across the CHKDHS. The Internal Traveler - Radiology Sedation Infusion Nurse provides airway management, monitoring of sedated patients, and support services in collaboration with physician(s), NP, or PA, as well as radiology and nursing staff. Knowledge of diagnostic radiology procedures to maintain a safe diagnostic Radiology environment Responsible for providing nursing care, treatments, and services. Must be able to travel between the main hospital and off-site CHKD locations. All nurses are required to cross-train between sedation and infusion services. This position requires you to rotate Saturdays. Reports to department manager/leadership. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * The internal traveler is expected to perform the following tasks independently after 36 hours orienting on the unit. * Performs a wide variety of patient care activities, accommodative services, and administrative functions to support the medical care of patients and families. * Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. * Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures. * Provides support to orientation and training of staff. * Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family, and staff education. * Demonstrates effective use of time and resources. * Performs other duties as assigned * LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS * Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. * RN specialty certification preferred (CPN, CCRN etc). * MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience. BSN is preferred. * Two or more years of relevant, current clinical experienced required. * Pediatric experience preferred. * CPR Training required. * PALS required. * Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. * WORKING CONDITIONS * Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
