RN Nurse Educator Behavioral Health-Full Time
Job Summary: The Clinical Educator carries out a plan of educational activities to enhance, promote, and maintain the standard of care within the hospital. Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks: * Assesses and identifies learning need. * Coordinates continuous comprehensive educational activities and research for employees. * Develops and provides educational programs to improve critical thinking and professional skills of the staff at the bedside and in the management arenas. * Evaluates the effectiveness of actions. * Implements financial accountability for ongoing unit-based educational activities and evaluates outcomes based on learner feedback and budgetary guidelines. * Maintains established standards of practice, implements professional development educational training for professional growth. * Plans and implements appropriate interventions. * Utilizes the values and principles of UT Health East Texas to develop unit-based educational activities and evaluates the effectiveness of these activities on an ongoing basis by assessing changes in clinical performance and improved customer satisfaction. * Other duties as assigned. Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: * Ability to keep detailed records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable and/or required formats. * Ability to multitask effectively. * Ability to collaborate with coworkers and functionally related teams. * Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information with discretion. * Computer skills, including Microsoft office, technical drawings, cad. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Good organizational and leadership skills. Required Education / Experience: * Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing. * Five (5) years of critical care clinical experience. * Familiarity with the organization and functions of other disciplines within the hospital. * Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse. * NLS from AHA. * May accept a combination of education and experience. Preferred Education / Experience: * Master's degree in nursing. * Two (2) years of management and/or teaching experience. Working Environment: * Standard office environment.
