Facility Profile TGH is the area's only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. Job Summary The APP fellow provides comprehensive medical care to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. The primary care advanced practice fellowship is a 10-12-month post-graduate program for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The program consists of rotations through both primary and specialty care clinics. Additionally, the fellow will participate in scheduled didactic and feedback sessions with program faculty. The fellow reflects the mission, vision and values of TGH & TGMG. Practices within scope in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, professional guidelines, and other regulatory and state requirements. Works in conjunction with assigned preceptors and/or faculty, as well as interdisciplinary team members, to diagnose and clinically manage both acute and chronic health care problems in an ambulatory setting. * The next cohort for the primary care fellowship will begin in May 2025. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited APP program. Current advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant licensure in the state of Florida. Board certification as a family nurse practitioner, physician assistant or dual certification as adult gerontology primary care and pediatric nurse practitioner required. Licensure, board certification and BLS certification must be maintained through the course of the fellowship program. Fellow must have a minimum of two years of prior nursing or relevant patient care experience.
