Responsibilities LOCATION: Center for Women's Healthcare and OB/GYN Faculty PracticeCITY: GreensboroJOB DETAILS: Exempt: Yes (Salaried) FTE: .9 (36 hours/week)Schedule: Primarily weekday nights and weekend days or nightsCall: If CNM, yes for waterbirth, otherwise no call EDUCATION: Appropriate Degree required from accredited Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Program EXPERIENCE: 1 year of clinical experience specific to practice as a CNM or NP preferredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: REQUIREDBLS (CPR) | American Heart Association or American Red CrossCNM or NP licensure in the State of NCDEA LicenseJOB DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for assisting and providing direct gynecologic and obstetric services to non-pregnant and low/high risk pregnant women and their families during the preconception, childbearing and postmenopausal process, both within the hospital and at the various outpatient offices. It is accountable for evaluation, treating and assisting in the triage of patients who present to the Maternity Admissions Unit for care. The provider is also expected to assist in the response to any emergency situation that may arise on the unit. This position will require the initial assessment, stabilization and appropriate transfer of patients as indicated. This position is accountable for performing medical acts as allowed by law and regulations governing nurse midwives nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. In addition, this position provides education and preceptor support for residents and students of advance practice nursing and medicine. This position serves the following patient care categories: pregnancy, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide full scope midwifery care to women throughout their reproductive lifespan (if applicable).--------------------------------------------------Provides individualized, family centered care to low and high risk pregnant women and their families throughout the childbearing process within the hospital or outpatient offices. Facilitate open communication among the patient, physician, hospital/office staff and the midwife.--------------------------------------------------Provide collaborative care for patients whose medical or obstetrical status dictates direct physician involvement in the care and treatment of the patient but whose overall status is acceptable for midwifery management.--------------------------------------------------Initiate and carry out medically acceptable emergency procedures when complications arise until the physician arrives to manage the complication.--------------------------------------------------Assess, diagnose and treat all female patients who have reached menarche, in collaboration with the primary or back up supervising physician, who present to the Maternity Admission Unit with OB/GYN and select primary care complaints.--------------------------------------------------Provide initial assessment and stabilization procedures for infants, children, males and any individual of any age/gender presenting with non OB/GYN complaints to the Maternity Admissions Unit and arrange for appropriate transfer to another more appropriate facility when deemed necessary, in collaboration with the primary or back up supervising physician and receiving/accepting physician.--------------------------------------------------Precept residents, midwifery students, NP students, medical and PA students--------------------------------------------------Maintains current and develops future theoretical CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:* Maintain licensure/certification/registry/listing* Annual mandatory requirements (e.g., flu shot, education, employee health)If you have any questions about this position, please contact:RT ThenCone Health Physician Recruitment [email protected] Health is an equal opportunity employer.
