Staff Nurse

PRN 200 N. Comal Nursing Rotating Shifts POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Implements the nursing process and provides leadership in the coordination of patient care activities. Provides clinical nursing services (under the direction of the Nurse Clinic Supervisor) for personnel in the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) or Cyndi Taylor Krier (CTK) Bexar County Probation facilities. Performs as a facilitator, mentor, educator, and resource for the Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) assigned to Detention Health Care Services - Juvenile department. Ensures that efficient, appropriate, and therapeutic health care is administered to DHCS patients while also ensuring that established security requirements are maintained as defined by the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department. Supports and adheres to University Health (UH) and Detention Health Care Services - Juvenile policies and procedures. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with UH mission, vision and values. Promotes excellent internal and external customer relations. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Must have a current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card. BSN is highly preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION A current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required.
