JOB SUMMARY: A clinically advanced Registered Nurse who will deliver nursing care to patients in the Medical Imaging Department during Medical Imaging and Interventional Pain Management Procedures. Radiology RN job duties consist of but are not limited to assisting existing Radiology Nurse with US/CT/Mammo guided biopsies and abscess drainages; IV starts and port accesses; lab draws; exercise arterial studies; contrast and agitated saline studies for Ultrasound; adverse contrast reaction monitoring; urinary catheter placements. Interventional Pain Management job duties consist of but are not limited to Moderate Sedation and documentation for procedures; address patient phone calls; prep referral charts for doctor to review and what the referral is for; collection of MRI and/or x-ray reports; provide last clinical note from referring physician; medication list of patient; collect patient demographics including insurance information. The employee must also effectively interact with patients and their significant others and the rest of the healthcare team while maintaining standards of professional nursing for age groups served. Exemplifies nursing through community involvement and education of patients and staff. QUALIFICATIONS: * Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma. * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. * Must also have the ability to be successful at teaching and reassuring the patient about procedures. * BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire. * ACLS and Moderate Sedation certification required. * RN with certification in area of specialization preferred. * Med Surg or similar experience preferred but not required. * Have awareness and potential complications of sedation. * Display comprehensive and current knowledge of procedures and medications being used. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and patients' families. * Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations. * Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and write. * Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone. * Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care. * Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel. * Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IV's, administer medications, and handle instruments). * Able to work in latex burdened environment.
