Substitute School Nurse

About This Role: The Substitute School Nurse is an on-call position. As the Substitute School Nurse you will provide care for students with medical needs, manage the administration of medications, and ensure compliance with health-related regulations. The role involves maintaining accurate health records, providing emergency medical support, and fostering a healthy environment in collaboration with staff. You will also… * Provide professional medical care and treatment to students during school hours. * Administer and oversee student medications in accordance with school policies. * Support health-education and immunization initiatives as needed. * Maintain and update student health records, ensuring confidentiality. * Coordinate and conduct health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, orthopedic) and routine assessments. * Offer immediate emergency aid to students and staff when required. * Collaborate with teachers to support instruction in health and wellness education. * Uphold privacy and confidentiality of all student, family, and staff medical information. * Perform other health-related duties as assigned by administration. What we are looking for: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related health field. * Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida. * CPR and First Aid certification required. * Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and staff in a school environment. * Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred.
