Registered Nurse - Performance Improvement Clinical Coordinator - Full Time


POSITION SUMMARY: The Performance Improvement Clinical Coordinator facilitates, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates performance improvement throughout the hospital to effectively improve the quality of care and to promote efficient use of resources. The Clinical Coordinator also partners with risk management to reduce loss and liability. The Performance Improvement Clinical Coordinator collaborates with the Medical Staff members, ARMC leaders and staff to measure, assess, and improve processes and outcomes to effect improvements that are aligned with strategic plans, annual objectives and regulatory or accreditation requirements. This position serves as a resource to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: The Joint Commission, New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and ARMC policies and legal issues. This position is also responsible for facilitating the process of Medical Staff Peer Review as related to reappointment, and ongoing or focused professional practice review. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required. (consideration given to candidates in active pursuit). LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. Quality Management certification within 2 years of employment or other certification in related discipline preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years related experience within a clinical environment. Prior involvement with Performance Improvementor Risk Management preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. The department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Director Quality/Accreditation.
