JOB SUMMARY * Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and practices. Duties include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care for patients. Educate staff and patients on procedural type processes, i.e. sterile field set, patient procedure education, etc. Serve as lead RN in the absence of the manager. Assist surgeons in Operating Room with produces and closures. Maintain, prioritize, and schedule incoming referrals. Assign referrals to the appropriate physician based on the physician's specialty. Maintain procedure-related stock, specialty items, and other supplies for the department. Serve as surgical assistant and lead for Hemorrhoidal Ligation setup and procedure. In conjunction with the physician, prepare and review plan of care with patients in both the pre-op and post-op setting. Perform dressing changes, such as wound vacs, compression wraps, ostomy care, suture/staple removal, and other dressings as needed. Function as PEG tube educator and liaison for PEG tube insertion and coordination of care. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * 2 year / Associate Degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (Required) * 4-year / Bachelor's Degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (Preferred) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * 2 years assisting in the surgical services department supporting the physician with direct patient care. * 1 year of Nursing Experience (Preferred) CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES * Required Certifications/Licensures: Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license (Required) * Basic Life Support (BLS) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Have near normal vision - Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors * Ability to perform - repetitive tasks/motion * Have good - manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Standing - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Walking - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Sitting - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Climbing - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Bending/Stooping - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Twist at waist - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Pushing/Pulling - Frequently within shift (34-66%) * Lift/carry up to 20 lbs - Frequently within shift (34-66%) * Reaching above shoulder - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Lift/carry > 50 lbs with assistance - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) * Lift/carry > 20 lbs with assistance - Frequently within shift (34-66%)
