Location: Deploying to the Marshall Islands Job Summary: The Flight Nurse will provide medical support during air medical evacuations. The Flight Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients during evacuations and rescue operations aboard aircraft, both fixed wing and rotary. Duties and Responsibilities: * Stabilize and prepare patients for transport. * Provide proper medical care and treatment during transport. * Diagnose and treat with appropriate techniques (resources and equipment) any medical situation while maintaining the highest standard of patient care according to current Company standards. * Maintain accurate and thorough records during transport. * Communicate with transferring nurse upon arrival for patient report. Ensure that the patient has been accepted by the receiving facility and all EMTALA requirements have been met prior to transporting the patient. Provide a complete and concise patient report to the RN or Physician at the receiving facility. * Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. * Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements. Qualifications: * Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Associate degree in nursing accepted. * Hold and maintain a current, unrestricted US (State) Nursing License. * 3 years of Flight Nurse or Critical Care experience (1-year minimum as a flight nurse is required). * Hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). * Completion of US DOT Air Medical Crew Core Curriculum. * Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required. * Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities. * All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year. * Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License. * Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration. * Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English. * Requires a favorably adjudicated CNACI investigation conducted by the Department of Defense. * Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor of Nursing BSN preferred. * Current Advanced Trauma Certification (i.e. TNCC, TCRN, TCCC, etc) preferred. * Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) may be considered with applicable experience. * Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred. * Critical Care Emergency Medicine Transport Program (CCEMTP) or similar Critical Care Course is preferred. * Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC/CIC) preferred. * Military experience is preferred. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions: * Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be "medically and dentally fit" in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as directed by the Client. * Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. * Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel to Kwajalein is required by air.
