Patient Monitor Support System
Position Summary The Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Support Specialist is responsible for managing the referral and enrollment process for the RPM program, ensuring that patients are promptly and accurately assessed for eligibility. This role involves verifying insurance information, obtaining necessary authorizations, and guiding patients through the enrollment process, including consent and documentation. The Support Specialist will also provide comprehensive training to patients and caregivers on the use of RPM devices, oversee device inventory and maintenance, and support ongoing patient troubleshooting. Additionally, the RPM Support Specialist will assist the RPM Supervisor in proactively identifying and procuring referrals, maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, and ensuring high standards of patient satisfaction and care. Responsibilities • Receive and process referrals from providers and other sources, ensuring prompt review and timely patient contact. • Maintains current knowledge of referral and authorization requirements based on payer specific guidelines. • Verify patient eligibility for the RPM program according to established criteria. • Obtain insurance authorization and share benefit coverage and co-pay responsibility with patients/families prior to program enrollment. • Ensures financial information and insurance has been verified and updates patient insurance information in billing systems as needed. • Obtain consent from patients electing to opt-in to the programs. • Enroll patients in their homes when necessary, ensuring proper setup and use of RPM devices and retrieve kits upon program completion. • Guide patients through the enrollment process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurately submitted. • Schedule initial setup and training sessions for patients with RPM devices. • Provide comprehensive training to patients and caregivers on how to use remote monitoring devices and troubleshoot common issues. • Coordinate the logistics of RPM device delivery and retrieval, manage inventory, and ensure timely shipment and receipt. • Oversee device inventory, device maintenance, and device reprocessing processes. • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure patients are satisfied with the enrollment process and address any additional questions or concerns. • Provide ongoing support to enrolled patients, helping them troubleshoot any issues with RPM devices or the monitoring process. • Monitor and manage the census of enrolled patients and provide regular reports on census data and enrollment status. • Assist the RPM Supervisor with proactively identifying and procuring referrals for patients who may be eligible for the program. • Maintains flexibility in work schedule availability that allows department to change/modify work schedule to meet • departmental needs. • Creates a climate of empowerment and trust with all working relationships.
