Job Code 20313Y Recruitment Pool All Applicants Posting Number req6459 Unit VP For Health Sciences MBU Department Safety & Risk Management Department Website Link https://srm.vcu.edu/ Location VCU Address 907 Floyd Ave, Richmond, VA 23284 USA Duties & Responsibilities Position Summary The Safety & Risk Management (SRM) Occupational Health Nurse will work with the VCU Industrial Hygienist, Biological, Chemical, and Radiation Safety Officers and Occupational Safety to identify and enroll employees in the medical surveillance program appropriate to the identified job hazards as regarded by OSHA, and other regulatory bodies as applicable to the VCU community. Working under supervision of the Occupational Health Nurse manager and the medical supervision of the employee health medical director, the incumbent will participate in managing VCU occupational health services as well as providing direct medical surveillance and testing required by these services. Responsibilities * Enrolls and helps manage occupational health surveillance programs to include, but not limited to, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogens, animal allergies and ergonomics. * Will manage RedCap and SciShield databases and maintain enrollment of employees in appropriate medical services. * Will provide medical clearance documentation for respirator users according to Virginia Nursing Scope of Practice. * Will assist in scheduling and performing respirator fit testing, audiometric testing and hearing device fitting for VCU employees. * Will develop training modules as needed. * Will work within regulatory guidelines such as OSHA, HIPAA, EPA, etc. Work Location This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements: the incumbent is expected to work 4 days on campus and has the option to work remotely the other day. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Current RN license, eligible to work in the Commonwealth of Virginia * Current BLS certification * Bachelors degree * Minimum 1-2 years experience in nursing field * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of data privacy and security practices, particularly HIPAA compliance * Familiarity with electronic data capture applications, including survey and database creation, data entry, and data export * Strong work ethic, initiative, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. * Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU Preferred Qualifications * Preferred certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) * BSN * Experience in occupational health, public health, or a related field * Proficiency in REDCap, including survey and database creation, data entry, and data export * Familiarity with statistical software and experience in exporting and preparing data for analysis FLSA University Employee Job FTE 1 Exemption Status Exempt Restricted Position No E-Class UF - University Employee FT Job Category University Employee ORP Eligible Yes Salary Range $65,600 - $72,500 Compensation Type Salaried Target Hire Date 12/1/2024 Contact Information for Candidates Documents Needed to Apply Resume and Cover letter
