RN-Staff Nurse - OP Surgery Ctr

Full-Time 2021 Concert Drive Outpatient Nursing Days 33.0100 Through 49.5200 * GENERAL SUMMARY * The RN - O/P Staff Nurse plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice in either PACU/Day Surgery or the Operating Room (OR). Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to department management. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. * Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. * Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures. * Performs other duties as assigned. * LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS * Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. * MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience required. BSN is preferred. * For OR position, recent OR experience is required. * For PACU position, recent PACU experience is preferred. * RN certification preferred. * Pediatric experience preferred. * PALS and ACLS required within one year of hire. * CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. * WORKING CONDITIONS * Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
