PAY AND BENEFITS Hourly Pay Range: $44.008292 - $55.853432 Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position. Clackamas County Health Centers - Behavioral Health Clinics has an opportunity for a full time Psychiatric Nurse (Classified as a Community Health Nurse) to provide triage, evaluations and other services to individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders primarily servicing Medicaid, Medicare, and medically uninsured populations. The Psychiatric Nurse in this position will work directly with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatrists to support psychiatric treatment plans, evaluations, and medication management. Due to the work environment within Clackamas County's Behavioral Health clinics the Psychiatric Nurse in this position must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in Oregon. Psychiatric Nurses are responsible for collecting information and evaluating clients to prepare them for working with prescribers, ongoing management of efficient patient flow, care coordination, as well as supporting the team. This position requires independent judgment, effective and respectful communication with patients, ability to conduct detailed evaluation in a short period of time and documenting it in Epic chart, ability to prioritize needs, skillful team membership, and expertise to provide nursing care and education. The Psychiatric Nurse in this position will provide care to children and adults. Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable * Licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) in the State of Oregon. * Must meet the definition for a QMHP as established by the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). Definition and to qualify as a QMHP for this position: A "Qualified Mental Health Professional" (QMHP) means a licensed registered nurse meeting the following minimum qualifications as authorized by the Local Mental Health Authority or designee: Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon. * Must possess and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate * Must successfully pass the credentialing process * Experience in positions that require accurate assessments for patient care and treatment * Experience in conducting psychiatric assessments and documenting in concise timely manner * Experience, knowledge and commitment to serving a diverse population and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Experience in positions that require handling a wide range of situations and circumstances effectively, positively and professionally * Experience working in Electronic Health Record, preferably Epic * Experience in working with high case loads (hundreds) Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferable Skills:* * Experience working in a behavioral health clinic or similar facility * At least one (1) or more years of general Registered Nurse (RN) experience * Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both Spanish and English * Fluency in working in Epic, Word, Excel and other programs Pre-Employment Requirements:* * Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. TYPICAL TASKS * Educates clients regarding medication risks and benefits based on prescribers' assessments. Coordinates communications between prescribers and other agencies, screens and directs patients' phone calls, assists with medication refills and paperwork. * Conducts and documents intake psychiatric evaluations and reassessments for patients. WORK SCHEDULE This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. *Flexible 10 hour days and/or 32 hours work week are an option. This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework subject to the Clackamas County Teleworking Policy and based on the Department's business needs.
