JOB LOCATION Duke Cardiology of Cary - 540 New Waverly Pl, Ste 101, Cary, NC 27518 JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a CMA for Duke Cardiology of Cary to perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, data collection, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications * Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6-minute walks, orthostatic blood pressures), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures. * Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS * Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. * High school or GED graduation required. * Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. * BLS required Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
