LDRP Nurse Manager/Educator

Maintains nursing skills that are expected of unit staff. If floor coverage is needed, provides patient care within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. The manager/educator is a designated leader for the Labor Delivery Recover Postpartum (LDRP) unit. Responsible for patient population and assigned staff. Under the supervision of the director, organizes, plans, coordinates and evaluates unit activities. Provides direction, support and guidance to staff and aids in their development. Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, ancillary departments, patients, patient families, visitors, co-workers and personnel from various hospital departments. A clinician with a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence in patient education and current nursing standards of practices. Provides educational materials for staff orientation and continuing learning, taking an active role in supporting development and retention. Acts as a resource, role model, consultant, and mentor. Maintains standards, supports performance improvement of the facility, and staff development. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to input data into computer programs, answer telephones, coordinate events, interview others, maintain patient charts, maintain logs, operate patient care and diagnostic equipment. 24 hour accountability of unit. Population served: * Neonates/Newborns * Antepartum * Intrapartum * Postpartum * Adolescent (13-17 years) * Adult (18 years to 69 years) Education: BSN Experience: Minimum of 3 years Clinical Nursing experience in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum or Postpartum. Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida. BLS required upon hire. ACLS, NRP, NIH Stroke within 30 days of hire.
