We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Mental Health Registered Nurse) to join our Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) team of dedicated and compassionate individuals. What you need to qualify Possess a current, full, active unrestricted Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license. AND You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record. AND Have experience in a home health care, clinic setting, skilled facility, and/or medical surgical unit that included full range triage nursing. Essential attributes We are looking for candidates with: * Experience working as a Registered Nurse. * Experience communicating clearly and cross culturally in writing, directly, or virtually. Preferred attributes These attributes are a plus; but are not required. * Experience working with electronic health records. * Experience that demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior and delegated actions. * Responsible and accountable behavior concerning work schedule. * Experience working with individuals with a mental illness, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Your duties at a glance The Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) operates 20 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene and provides 24-hour residential care and supervision to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed the supports offered or provided by other community-based residential programs. We provide training and support for the purpose of assisting individuals in safely transitioning back to their home community. We model positive attitudes while offering health and medical supports, psychological services, emotional and behavioral support, life skills training, educational supports, recreational opportunities, and community integration. We are dedicated to providing the support necessary to maintain the quality of life, achieve the highest possible level of independence and promote social opportunities, which benefit the individuals and the community. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring all nursing and medical needs of individuals are met including. * Establishing relationships to maintain a holistic focus that includes physical, psychosocial, mental, emotional, social and spiritual components. * Conducting continuous and comprehensive preventive, curative, and rehabilitative and palliative practices and services. * Collaborating with physicians, prescribers, respiratory therapists, nurse specialists, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, and other members of community health care teams, individual's families, guardians, and representatives, county case managers, as well as program team members, respiratory therapists, licensed practical nurses, and direct care staff. * Being a vital member of the Individual Support Plan team. * Providing direct nursing cares to individuals with complex medical needs, including but not limited to: * Respiratory management, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and administering respiratory medications and treatments. * Skin, ostomy, and wound care. * Enteral feedings. * Catheterization. * Medication administration via various routes. * ADL's, including toenail and fingernail care, peri-care, positioning, physical assistance, oral care, as needed and/or train or delegate tasks to direct care staff as appropriate. Working conditions * You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record. * Frequent daily lifting up to 75 pounds involving transferring, positioning and moving individuals. * Frequent daily squatting, bending, and stooping. * Exposure to infectious diseases and body fluids. * Daily exposure to household strength cleaning agents, detergents. * Exposure to a variety of work settings both within the home(s) and the community. * Occasional exposure to inclement weather (accompanying clients to doctor appointments). * May be required to work overtime to provide necessary staffing and support for individuals--7 days a week/24-hours a day. * May be required to transport individuals utilizing wheelchair accessible vehicles, passenger vans, mini vans and/or standard size cars. Must have the ability to drive a car/van. * Must maintain a valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse License. * Must maintain up to date BLS. * Frequent contact with the public and other agency personnel. * Biannual Bloodborne Pathogen Training.
