Position Summary Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, located in Medford, is a 378-bed regional referral and level 2 trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise--all administered with a patient-focused philosophy. Our hospital team delivers nationally recognized heart and vascular care, orthopedic services, and cancer care, as well as a comprehensive range of other key services including neurology and neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, rehabilitation services, work health, diabetes care, hospice services, a primary stroke center, an accredited hospital-based sleep center, and the regions only neonatal intensive care unit. Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) sees an average of 130 patients a day. It is a level 2 trauma center. We have 39 rooms with 20 designated as high acuity, 5 moderate/low acuity, 4 Psych flex rooms and 5 Triage rooms. RN to patient ratios are: 1:1 - 1:4 depending on acuity. Key Responsibilities * Working alongside a team of highly trained physicians, nurses, and techs to provide both efficient and excellent emergency care. * Providing the upmost care to emergency room patients through stabilization and monitoring of current health conditions. * Advising patients on their current condition and educating them on continued care. * Quickly and safely assessing Emergency Room patients and prioritizing based on acuity measures. Position Qualifications Education * Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Experience * Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department and/or Critical Care experience is required OR, Previous experience in one of the below is required; * 9 Months of Clinical Decision Unit RN experience at Asante. * Emergency Department Technician. * Completion of practicum hours in an Emergency Department during nursing school. * Previous EMS Licensure. Licensure/Certifications * RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) required upon start. * BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start. * ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required within 4 months of hire/transfer. * PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required within 4 months of hire/transfer. * TNCC: Trauma Nurse Core Course within 4 months of hire or equivalent for subsequent renewals. Requirement may be waived for short term emergency staffing needs if prior experience in area of specialty is adequate. For New Graduate RN's ONLY (as defined by the hob description): if any additional certifications are required for the unit, as listed on the position qualifications, you have 4 months from your hire date to acquire them. (BLS and RN are still required at the date of hire for all RN's). Preferred Certifications * CEN: Certified Emergency Nurse.
