Manager, Oncology Nurse Navigation - Orlando Health Cancer Institute

Position Summary Responsible for the guidance and direction of the nurse navigation program for Orlando Health UF Health cancer center. Evaluates the process for navigation of oncology patients, ensuring all patients receive appropriate timely care, and education for oncology treatment as prescribed by the physician. Ensures team provides a high level of customer focused care and supports the mission and goals of Orlando Health. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Develops and coordinates Oncology Nurse Navigator Services at Orlando Health. • Collaborates with key departments within Orlando Health to ensure timely and quality services. • Builds relationships with key department to promote standardization and utilization of the oncology nurse navigator program. • Coordinates the development and performance of educational activities, program evaluation and outcomes research. • Provides comprehensive evaluation of all assigned patients. • Initiates referrals and communicates recommendations to medical, educational and allied health professionals and social agencies. • Attends and participates in leadership and multidisciplinary meetings. • Participates in yearly budget planning for resources including additional oncology nurse navigator personnel, equipment and supplies. • Maintains Oncology nurse navigation Policies and Procedures Manual and ensures administrative and clinical compliance with state and national regulatory agencies. • Cooperates and participates in patient care audits and total quality improvement initiatives. • Develops patient care methodology for protocols including criteria for patient participation, primary endpoints, data collection points, timelines, and budgets for nurse navigation. • Collects and analyzes oncology nurse navigator metrics. • Collaborate with the Practice manager to complete performance evaluations as needed. • Facilitates program development and expansion via correspondence, seminars, abstract submissions, and presentations at local, state and national meetings. • Assists with various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions. outreach programs. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Understands process improvement and directs teams consistently relative to KPI and PDSA activities. Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license. • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. • Oncology certification required.
