Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery Nights


Description Position Summary: The RN provides direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the scope of practice of a RN according to the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care. Service/Quality/Excellence: * Supports hospital mission statement, philosophy, goals and objectives * Effective verbal, written, and computer communication skills * Complies with facility policies & procedures * Completes regulatory education requirements * Attends job related in-services * Attends at least 80% of department meetings Qualifications Licensure/Certification Requirements: * Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact * BLS by end of week one * NRP (and/or obtains within 3 months of hire) * AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent) Annually (and/or by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation) * AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Biannually (and/or within 6 months of hire) * NIH Stroke Annually (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation) * Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation) Education/Experience: * Graduate from an accredited nursing program * Maintains education and development appropriate for position
