Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse Med/Surg

Job Description Med/Surg 2 South Shift: Weekend Nights Position Responsibilities: * The Charge Nurse accepts the responsibility and accountability for the entire unit during a designated shift and the evaluation and treatment of the populations. * He/she is responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. * Will provide direct patient care when necessary. * Reports to Med/Surg Director. * Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director) * Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor) * Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift * Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources Position Requirements: * Previous Charge Nurse or related management experience * Minimum Six (6) months RN experience * Current/Active RN license * Current BLS and ACLS certifications from ARC or AHA At North Okaloosa Medical Center, we believe in providing convenient care in a comfortable setting.
