Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Behavioral Health Portland, OR Hours are typically during daytime business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Full-time, part-time, and Per Diem positions available. Position Summary: At Cascadia Health, our mission is to deliver whole-person health care by integrating behavioral and physical health services. As a Registered Nurse in our Outpatient Behavioral Health program, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive nursing care to clients with mental health and substance use disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver client-centered care, promoting wellness and recovery in a compassionate and trauma-informed environment. Essential Duties: This position description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities or an all-inclusive job description. * Provide quality nursing assessments and appropriate nursing care, including all medical interventions and documentation. * Demonstrate knowledge of common medical conditions and understand the physiological basis for the nursing care delivered. * Formulate Nursing Care Plans for clients' physical and mental health conditions. * Provide client education about their medications and treatments. * Administer psychotropic medications, including long-acting injectables (LAIs), interpret client's response to medications, monitor symptoms, and take appropriate action based on current psychopharmacology standards. * Administer Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) as ordered. * Attend and actively participate in Team-Based Care (TBC) meetings and huddles by providing nursing expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating holistic client care. * Coordinate and manage client care as a liaison between client, medical staff, pharmacies, outside agencies, laboratory services, caregivers, and families when appropriate to assure continuity of quality client care. * Attend and actively participate in Nursing team meetings. * Interact appropriately with clients, visitors, and other community members to support the treatment process, and advise on client rights to treatment, refusal of treatment, and involuntary treatment procedures as provided by applicable regulations. * Document and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ancillary records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policies, program procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation as required, associated with billing, assessment, treatment, client's progress, and other activities. * Respect and honor client rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics. * Assist in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols/procedures and coordinating with the treatment team with interventions that support a trauma-informed environment for clients and staff. * Demonstrate responsibility for the safety of clients, staff, and property; demonstrate familiarity with fire regulations and evacuation procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: * An active, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse License and CPR/First Aid Certification. * Must demonstrate the competencies to become credentialed as a QMHA or QMHP as per MHACBO. * QMHP: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. * QMHA: An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college and at least one year of mental health work experience. * 1-2 years of clinical experience working in behavioral/mental health inpatient or outpatient services is preferred, especially experience in case management, coordination, and outpatient/community/SUD services. * Knowledge of the medical conditions most commonly encountered by people with severe and persistent mental illness and an understanding of the physiological basis for the nursing care delivered. * Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing. * Ability to maintain a trauma-informed care environment. * Competency in operating computer hardware and software to effectively perform job functions. * Must be able to commute to various Cascadia sites and locations.
